The results of the Dhaka University (DU) A Unit admission test for the 2025–2026 academic year are expected to be published within this week, according to university sources. However, the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
A source from the university’s online admission committee told the media on Sunday (25 January) that the results are still in the final process. The source said the results have not yet been formally submitted to the online committee.
Once the results are submitted, they will be published within one to two days. After publication, candidates will be able to check the DU A Unit Result 2026 on the official admission website and via SMS, the source added.
The official further confirmed that the university aims to publish the results within this week.
Earlier, the Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences and Coordinator of the Science Unit, Professor Dr Md Enamul Haque, shared a similar update. Speaking to the media last Wednesday, he said the preparation work was almost complete.
“The work of preparing the DU A Unit Result is at the final stage. Everything is ready. We will publish it as soon as possible,” he said. He also expressed hope that the results would be released within the month.
According to university sources, 30 and 31 January are weekly holidays. The last working day before the holidays is Thursday, 29 January. Based on this schedule, officials believe the results will be published this week.
The Science Unit admission test for first-year undergraduate programmes was held on 27 December. The exam took place from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
This year, a total of 114,114 students sat for the Science Unit admission test. There are 1,891 available seats across different science disciplines. This means around 60 candidates competed for each seat, showing intense competition.

The admission test was held at Dhaka University and also at selected public universities in seven divisional cities outside Dhaka. This system was introduced to reduce travel difficulties for students living outside the capital.
The exam centres outside Dhaka were Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.
Initially, the Science Unit admission test was scheduled for 20 December. However, the exam was postponed due to a one-day state mourning. The mourning was observed following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, a former Dhaka University student and a probable Member of Parliament candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency.
After the postponement, Dhaka University authorities announced 27 December as the new date for the examination.
The Science Unit, also known as the A Unit, is one of the most competitive admission units at Dhaka University. Each year, a large number of students apply for a limited number of seats in science-related subjects.
Once the results are published, the university is expected to announce the next steps, including merit list details and further admission procedures, through official notices and the admission website.
