The admission test for the Science Faculty–affiliated ‘A’ Unit of Comilla University (CoU) has been completed today, Friday (30 January), at two university centres in Bangladesh.
The examination was held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon for the 2025–26 first-year undergraduate academic session.
According to the official information, the total number of seats in the ‘A’ Unit this year is 300. Against these seats, a total of 46,336 applications were submitted by admission seekers across the country.
As a result, more than 154 candidates competed for each available seat in the Science Faculty–affiliated unit. Of the total applicants, 29,821 candidates appeared for the examination at the Comilla University centre.
Another 16,515 candidates took part in the same test at the Rajshahi University centre, officials said. The COU A Unit Admission Test was conducted at both centres at the same time, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. As per the source, the COU A Unit Result 2026 will be published soon, most probably by February 3, 2026.
The test was held in multiple-choice question format, commonly known as MCQ, for a total of 100 marks. Candidates were given one hour to complete the examination, according to the test schedule. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted under the negative marking system. The minimum pass mark for the ‘A’ Unit admission test has been set at 33.
This admission test is one of the most competitive entry routes for science students seeking undergraduate study at Comilla University. The large number of applicants compared with the limited number of seats highlights the high demand for science programmes at public universities in Bangladesh.
Holding the test at two separate centres helped accommodate candidates from different regions and reduced pressure on a single campus. University officials confirmed that all candidates sat for the same question format and marking system at both centres.
The completion of the test marks an important stage in the undergraduate admission process for the 2025–26 academic year at Comilla University.
