The assistant teacher recruitment exam in Bandarban District will take place on May 2 at 10:00 am. The announcement comes amid ongoing complications in the national primary teacher recruitment process.
A notice issued on Thursday, April 23, confirmed the exam schedule. The Bandarban Hill District Council, under the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, is managing the process in this district.
Applicants can download their admit cards from April 23. The download window will remain open until 5:00 pm on May 1. The exam will be held at two centres: Bandarban Government College and Bandarban Collectorate School and College.
Earlier, the written exam for assistant teacher recruitment took place on January 9 in 61 districts. The three hill districts, including Bandarban, were not part of that phase. Results were published on January 21, with 69,265 candidates passing the written test.
Oral exams for these candidates ran from January 28 to February 3 at district primary education offices. The Directorate of Primary Education released final results on February 8. A total of 14,385 candidates were selected.
Health checks, including dope tests, and document verification were completed between February 22 and March 1. According to the rules, selected candidates were expected to join soon after. However, the process has remained stalled for about two months.
Sources at the ministry said the results may go through a review. Meanwhile, candidates have submitted memorandums to the concerned authorities. As no response has been received, they have announced continuous protest programmes starting from April 26.
The Bandarban exam will complete the remaining district-level recruitment test, as authorities continue to address the broader delay.
