The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Religious Studies exams were held across Bangladesh on Thursday, May 7. The exams began at 10:00 AM and will end at 1:00 PM under the country’s 11 education boards. Candidates will be looking for the MCQ Question Solution after ending the exam.
Students took exams in Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity. According to the official routine, candidates had to enter exam centres at least 30 minutes before the exam started.
Authorities distributed OMR answer sheets before 10:00 AM. The multiple-choice question (MCQ) section ran from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The written section continued from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM.
This year, 1,857,344 candidates registered for the SSC and equivalent examinations. Among them, 1,418,398 students are under nine general education boards. The Madrasa Education Board has 304,286 candidates, while the Technical Education Board has 134,660 candidates.
The figures show almost equal participation between male and female students. A total of 930,305 male candidates and 927,039 female candidates are taking part in the exams this year.
The Dhaka Education Board has the highest number of candidates. A total of 366,650 students are appearing under the board. Among them, 169,939 are male and 196,711 are female. The board is managing 510 exam centres and 3,441 institutions.
The Sylhet Education Board has the lowest number of candidates. It has 89,421 registered students, including 35,530 males and 53,891 females. The board operates 225 centres and 973 institutions.
Other major boards also recorded strong participation. The Rajshahi Education Board has 177,709 candidates, while the Comilla Education Board has 146,817 candidates.
Officials said 25,408 candidates were absent on the first day of the examinations. Under the general education boards, 1,134,853 students registered for the Bangla First Paper exam. Of them, 1,122,963 attended, while 11,890 remained absent.
The SSC examinations are one of the country’s main public exams. The results play an important role in admission to higher secondary education.
Education authorities have asked students to follow all exam rules and maintain discipline at centres. The examination schedule will continue in the coming days as planned.
