The Ministry of Finance also provides a digital checking system through its online portal. The system is known as the Prize Bond Result Information System, or PBRIS.

Through the portal, users can check results by entering a single bond number. They can also upload an Excel file to check many bond numbers at the same time. These digital options reduce the need to visit banks or offices after each draw. They are especially useful for people living outside major cities.

Under the Income Tax Act 2023, a 20 per cent source tax will be deducted from the prize money. Prize bonds were introduced in Bangladesh in 1974 to promote savings among the public. The central bank manages the draw process and related services.

People can buy and encash prize bonds at any time using cash. This service is available from the Bangladesh Bank, all scheduled banks, post offices, and the Savings Bureau. However, the service is not available at Shariah-based banks. It is also not available at the Mymensingh office, according to official information.

The prize bond programme matters to many Bangladeshi families because it combines savings with a chance to win cash prizes. Unlike informal savings methods, the bonds are backed by the central bank.

Bangladesh Bank has advised bondholders to use only official websites and government portals when checking results. The winning numbers from today’s draw will be published through official Bangladesh Bank and Ministry of Finance channels after the draw is completed.
