According to senior party sources, Tarique Rahman is likely to serve as Minister of Defence. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is expected to take charge of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain may head the Power and Energy Ministry. Abdul Moyeen Khan is being considered for Information and Broadcasting. Mirza Abbas is expected to receive the Housing and Public Works portfolio.
Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed is under discussion for Textiles and Jute. Abdul Awal Mintoo may lead Social Welfare. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury is widely seen as the leading candidate for Commerce.
Salahuddin Ahmed is expected to oversee Public Administration. Abdus Salam Pintu may receive the Industries Ministry. Reza Kibria is being discussed for Finance, one of the most important portfolios in the new government.
