The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) has changed part of the ongoing Diploma in Engineering examination schedule due to the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary test.
The revised routine affects written and practical examinations under BTEB. The board confirmed that the changes were made to avoid a clash with the 50th BCS exam scheduled on January 30.
Engineer Md Abul Kalam Azad, Controller of Examinations at BTEB, provided the information.
According to a notification issued by the board on Monday, the subject Basic Electricity (26711), which was earlier scheduled for 9:30 am on Friday, January 30, will now be held at 2:30 pm on the same day.
The notification said the time change was necessary because of the BCS preliminary examination.
The board also announced changes to two other written exams. The subjects Survey CAD (27832) and Industrial Electronics (26833) were originally scheduled at 2:30 pm on January 30. These exams have now been moved to 10:00 am on Sunday.
BTEB said the revised dates and times apply to all examinees appearing in these subjects under the Diploma in Engineering programme.
In addition to the written exams, the board confirmed updates to the practical examination schedule. According to the revised routine, practical exams will begin on February 1 and continue until February 7.
The board instructed that the practical exam on February 1 must be conducted during the third and fourth shifts. No changes were announced for the remaining days of the practical exams.
BTEB clarified that while the date and time of some exams have been changed, all other terms and conditions mentioned in the earlier notification will remain the same.
The board also said that all examination centres and concerned educational institutions have already been informed about the revised schedule. Students have been advised to follow the updated routine to avoid confusion.
The changes are important for Diploma in Engineering students, as January 30 is a key exam day and many candidates may also be involved with the BCS preliminary test. The revised timings aim to ensure that students can sit for their exams without overlap.
BTEB has asked students, teachers, and institutions to check the official notification carefully before attending exams.
Further and detailed information about the updated exam routine is available on the official website of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
The board said it will continue the examinations according to the revised schedule, and no other changes have been announced at this time.
