The admission process for first-year undergraduate (Honours) classes at Chittagong University (CU) for the 2025–2026 academic session will begin on February 22, 2026.
The process will continue until February 26, according to an official notice issued on Monday, February 2.
The announcement was signed by S. M. Akbar Hossain, Deputy Registrar (Academic) of Chittagong University.
The university also confirmed that the first merit list of successful candidates will be published online on February 18. The list will include both general and quota candidates. It will cover all units and sub-units. Only students who receive department or institute nomination will appear on the list.
According to the notice, students whose names appear on the first merit list will be able to complete their preliminary admission during the same period. This preliminary admission process will start on February 22 and will end on February 26.

The university said that separate and detailed notices will be issued later by the respective unit offices. These notices will explain the full procedures for each unit.
The announcement is important for thousands of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) graduates across Bangladesh who are seeking admission to public universities.
Chittagong University is one of the country’s major public universities. Every year, a large number of students apply for its Honours programmes through different admission units.
Students and guardians are advised to follow the official website and unit offices for updates. The university has not yet released any further instructions in this notice. Chittagong University authorities said the detailed admission guidelines will be published in due course by the respective unit offices.
