Hasnat Abdullah Wins Comilla-4 Seat, Became First Gen-Z MP in Bangladesh

Shapla Koli (NCP) candidate secures 1,72,000 votes in Debidwar constituency

Hasnat Abdullah has been elected unofficially from the Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency in the 13th National Parliament election. He won by a large margin after vote counting ended on Thursday evening, February 12.

According to the announced results, counting was completed in all 116 centres in the constituency. Hasnat Abdullah, contesting with the Shapla Koli symbol, secured 1,72,000 votes. His nearest rival, Jasimuddin, who ran with the Truck symbol, received 26,000 votes.

Election officials released the results after the counting process concluded in the evening.

Voting for the 13th National Parliament election began at 7:30 am across the country. Polling continued without interruption until 4:30 pm. A total of 42,779 centres were set up nationwide for the election.

Alongside the parliamentary polls, a nationwide referendum was also held on the same day. Voters cast their ballots for both the parliamentary race and the referendum during the scheduled hours.

The Comilla-4 constituency was closely watched during this election cycle. The large margin of victory marks a significant political development in the area.

The Election Commission is expected to publish the final official gazette after completing all formal procedures.
