HSTU A Unit Admission Test Begins for 2025-2026 Session

The admission test started Monday morning in three shifts for agriculture-related faculties

The undergraduate first-year admission test for the 2025-2026 academic session of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) began on Monday through the ‘A’ Unit.

The examination started at 9:30 am on Monday (January 26) at the university campus in Dinajpur. The ‘A’ Unit test is being held in three separate shifts on the same day.

The ‘A’ Unit covers the faculties of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Veterinary Science. University authorities said competition remains high this year, with more than 50 candidates competing for each seat.

According to official data, a total of 94,375 applications were submitted across four units for the current admission cycle. Of these, 30,275 candidates applied for the ‘A’ Unit. There are 535 seats available in this unit. Based on the number of applicants, around 56 candidates are competing for each seat, university sources said.

Earlier information from HSTU also noted that about 52 candidates are competing per seat in the ‘A’ Unit. The figures reflect the strong demand for places in agriculture and related disciplines.

The ‘B’ Unit received 26,812 applications for 740 seats. This means around 37 candidates are competing for each seat in that unit. Within the department-wise ‘B’ Unit, the Architecture Department shows even higher pressure. There, about 41 candidates are competing for each of the 30 available seats.

University officials said all examinations are being conducted according to schedule. They added that measures have been taken to ensure smooth exam management across shifts and units.

The admission test process is important for thousands of students across Bangladesh who seek entry into science, agriculture, and technology-based higher education. HSTU is one of the country’s leading public universities in these fields.

The admission tests will continue over the next two days. Examinations for the ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’ Units will be held sequentially on 27 and 28 January, marking the conclusion of this year’s HSTU admission test process.
