The iQOO 15R has officially launched in India on Tuesday (February 24), at 12 PM IST. The company will stream the launch event live on YouTube. Viewers can watch the announcement online as the brand introduces the latest addition to its flagship lineup.

The new handset will join the existing iQOO 15 series. In the days before the launch, the company shared several confirmed details about the device’s display, processor, battery, and software support.

iQOO has confirmed that the phone will feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate helps deliver smoother scrolling and gaming. The screen will support up to 5,000 nits peak brightness and HDR10+, a format that improves colour and contrast in supported content. The device will also include eye care technology and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for security.

The company has also confirmed that the handset will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This octa-core chip is built on a 3nm process, which generally improves power efficiency and performance. iQOO claims the device has achieved an AnTuTu benchmark score of more than 3.5 million points. AnTuTu is a popular benchmarking platform used to test smartphone performance.

The processor will work alongside a Q2 supercomputing chip and a network enhancement chip. For heat control, the phone will include a 6.5K IceCore VC Cooling System. Such systems help manage temperature during heavy tasks like gaming.

On the software side, the device will run Android 16-based OriginOS 6. The company has promised four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. Long-term software support is important for users who plan to keep their phones for several years.

In the camera department, the handset is teased to feature a dual rear camera setup. It will include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700V primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, or OIS. OIS helps reduce blur in photos and videos. Reports suggest the second camera could be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, but this detail has not been officially confirmed.

The upcoming smartphone is confirmed to measure 7.9mm in thickness. It is also teased to pack a 7,600mAh battery with support for 100W FlashCharge. The device will support bypass charging, which allows power to flow directly to the system instead of the battery during gaming.

The company has hinted that the phone will be priced under Rs. 55,000. It is described as the fastest smartphone in this price segment. After launch, it is expected to be available through Amazon and the official iQOO India online store. Buyers may get colour options such as Triumph Silver and Dark Knight.

For buyers in India and Bangladesh who follow the premium smartphone market, today’s launch will confirm the final price and availability details. Full specifications and sales dates are expected to be announced during the livestream event.
