Junior Scholarship Exam 2025-2026 Result likely this week

More than 3.4 lakh Class 8 students across nine education boards await the nationwide scholarship test outcome

The Bangladesh Education Board is set to publish the Junior Scholarship Exam 2025-2026 result in the first week of February 2026. More than three lakh students across the country are waiting for the result of the Class 8 scholarship test.

The Ministry of Education reintroduced the scholarship exam this year after a break of nearly 15 years. The test was held for four subjects only: Bangla, English, Mathematics, Science, Bangladesh, and Global Studies.

According to the official schedule, the exam began on December 28, 2025, under nine general education boards, including Dhaka, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Chittagong, and Sylhet. It was scheduled to end on December 3,1 but later continued until January 5, 2026.

Board data show that 3,42,611 students registered for the exam nationwide. Of them, 3,16,084 students sat for the first paper, Bangla. Officials said the number of participants is lower than in previous national board exams, such as the former Junior School Certificate (JSC), where more than 10 lakh students usually took part.

Education boards typically publish results within 30 to 60 days after an exam. In past years, the JSC results were released around one month after completion. Since the scholarship exam ended in early January, the result is expected within early February, with some estimates pointing to publication by February 7.

Students will be able to check their merit status online once it is announced. The boards are expected to provide access through their official websites.

The result is important for students and families because it determines scholarship eligibility and academic recognition at the secondary level. Many schools and guardians use the merit list to plan the next stage of study.

Officials have not announced an exact date yet. The education boards are expected to confirm the publication schedule soon and release the results online nationwide.
