New applications for the recruitment of heads of private educational institutions may begin on March 15. The process may continue until March 25, according to sources at the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).
The change follows a revised policy by the Ministry of Education. The policy now requires 18 years of teaching experience for key leadership posts. These posts include head teachers, assistant head teachers, principals, and superintendents.
An NTRCA source said the change creates a major difference in eligibility rules. As a result, earlier applications may be canceled automatically. If this happens, candidates will need to apply again under the new conditions.
The matter was expected to be discussed at a meeting of the examination organizing committee on Thursday. A final decision may come after this meeting.
NTRCA Chairman, Md. Aminul Islam told the media that applications may be accepted between March 15 and March 25. He said the committee will make the final decision after discussion.
Meanwhile, NTRCA has also addressed the issue of application fees. More than 86,000 teachers previously applied for these posts. Each applicant paid a fee of 350 taka.

Officials said the money will be refunded if the applications are canceled. The authority is now discussing how to complete the refund process. The money may be returned through the mobile financial service bKash.
Md. Aminul Islam said the refund decision depends on the outcome of the meeting. He added that fees must be returned if applications are formally canceled.
NTRCA is expected to publish an official notice soon after the committee’s decision.
