NU extends Honours first-year application deadline to 22 February

Students can apply online for the 2025–26 session as the National University allows 22 more days

The National University has extended the application deadline for first-year undergraduate (Honours) admission for the 2025-2026 academic session. According to the latest notice, students can now submit applications online until midnight on 22 February.

The extension applies to colleges affiliated with the National University across Bangladesh. Interested candidates must complete the application process through the university’s official admission website.

This is the second time the application period has been extended. Earlier, the deadline was set for 31 January after a previous extension. The university has not changed any other application rules or eligibility conditions.

In its notice, the National University said the schedule for the admission test and the list of examination centres will be announced later. Students have been advised to regularly check official updates for further information.

Applicants must pay a primary application fee of Tk 1,000. The fee must be paid through the mobile banking system specified by the applying college or through direct payment options. The payment deadline is 23 February 2026. The university has asked students to carefully follow all instructions mentioned in the admission guidelines when submitting the online form.

For the 2025–26 academic session, the Honours admission test will be held separately for students from the Humanities, Science, and Business Studies groups. The test will follow a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format with a total of 100 marks.

Candidates will have one hour to answer 100 questions. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in the admission test, according to the official notice.

Merit lists will be prepared based on a total of 200 marks. This includes 100 marks from the admission test and 100 marks from academic results. Of the academic marks, 40 per cent will come from the SSC GPA, including the fourth subject, and 60 per cent from the HSC GPA. Subject-wise merit lists will be prepared separately for each college based on students’ subject preferences.

The extension gives students additional time to complete their applications and arrange payments. The National University has said further details, including test dates, will be shared in due course through official channels.
