Primary Scholarship Exam 2025 Likely on 16–17 April

Final schedule will be confirmed after ministry approval, officials say.

The Directorate of Primary Education has announced the probable dates for the 2025 Class 5 scholarship examination. The exam may be held on 16 and 17 April, 2026 across Bangladesh.

Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education, Abu Nur Md. Shamsuzzaman shared the information on Saturday evening (February 28, 2026). He spoke to the media about the proposed schedule.

“The primary scholarship examination may be held on 16 and 17 April. We have initially fixed these dates,” he said. He added that the final date and routine will be announced after approval from the ministry.

Earlier, the Minister of Education and Primary and Mass Education, A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, confirmed that the primary scholarship exam, which was not held last year, will take place this year. He spoke on Wednesday afternoon at the Junior Scholarship Examination result publication event. The event was held at the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

“The students have prepared; they cannot be deprived,” the minister said while answering questions from journalists.

He also confirmed that kindergarten schools will take part in the exam along with government primary schools. Of the total students, 80 percent will come from government primary schools. The remaining 20 percent will be from kindergartens.

The minister said the government is also considering increasing the number of junior scholarships from next year. “We will consider the matter of increasing the number of scholarships. We have just taken responsibility. This will be done thoughtfully and with everyone’s cooperation,” he said.

The announcement gives clarity to students and guardians preparing for the exam. The Primary Scholarship Exam Routine and official notice are expected after formal approval from the ministry.
