The university said the list was prepared based on merit, position and departmental preference. It included students who were present on 17 February for the admission process.

This year, RUET is offering 1,230 general seats across 14 departments. These departments fall under the faculties of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Computer Engineering. In addition, there are 5 reserved seats for students from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and ethnic minority groups. In total, 1,235 seats are available for the 2025–26 academic year.

Even after the first phase, nearly two-thirds of the total seats remain vacant. The university is expected to announce further steps to fill the remaining seats as part of the ongoing admission process.
