Samsung Electronics said the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series has set a new preorder record in South Korea, reaching 1.35 million units within seven days.
The company announced on March 6 that the record was achieved during the preorder period from February 27 to March 5. This surpasses the previous record set by the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which sold 1.3 million units in 11 days last year.
The strongest demand came for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra model. It accounted for about 70% of all preorders, the highest share recorded for an Ultra model in the Galaxy S lineup.
Industry observers say the high share shows strong consumer interest in premium features. The S26 Ultra includes a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera and a Privacy Display, which makes the screen harder to view from the side. The phone also supports advanced Galaxy AI tools and a “Super Steady” video feature designed to reduce shaking during recording.
The remaining orders were split between the Samsung Galaxy S26+ and the standard Galaxy S26 models, though the company did not release exact numbers for each device.
Color choices among buyers were also clear. For the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the standard model, white and black were the most popular options. Buyers of the S26+ mainly chose black and cobalt violet.

Samsung said more than 30% of preorder customers joined its New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, a service that provides benefits such as device damage protection and compensation for certain online transaction issues.
Customers in South Korea began receiving their preorder devices on March 6. Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S26 series in more than 120 countries starting March 11, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
For Bangladeshi consumers, the strong early demand signals high global interest in Samsung’s latest flagship phones. Availability in the local market is expected after the global rollout begins.
