All educational institutions from primary to higher secondary level will reopen across Bangladesh on Sunday. The long holiday for Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr ends on Thursday.
Classes will resume under a unified holiday schedule set by Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon. The decision brought the same holiday period for schools and colleges. Officials said it removed earlier differences in vacation length.
Public and private universities also remained closed during this period. The government suspended classes from March 9 due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. Authorities feared possible pressure on electricity and fuel supply.
The University Grants Commission sent official letters to universities to enforce the closure. Academic activities in universities will remain suspended until March 28.
Most universities plan to restart classes and regular academic work from Sunday. Students and teachers are preparing to return to campuses after the extended break.
The reopening will restore normal academic schedules across the country. Education authorities expect regular classes to continue without further interruption.
