Tecno Pova Curve 2 5G Launched: 8 RAM, Massive Battery, 50MP Upgraded Camera

The new smartphone features a curved AMOLED display, fast charging, and will go on sale from 20 February.

Tecno Pova Curve 2 has been launched in India with a large 8,000mAh battery and a curved display. The company says it is the slimmest phone in its segment to offer this battery size. The device will go on sale in India from 20 February.

The phone features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display. It offers a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen supports peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The handset has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It also carries SGS-certified drop protection.

At the back, the device includes a dual camera setup. This consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 13-megapixel front camera placed inside a hole-punch cutout.

The smartphone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The previous Pova Curve model used the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset.

A key highlight is its 8,000mAh battery. The battery supports 45W fast charging. Despite the large battery, the phone measures 7.42mm in thickness and weighs 195 grams.

The device includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and an infrared sensor. It has a single speaker with Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity options include USB Type-C, dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band Wi-Fi.

The phone runs on Android 16-based HiOS 16. Tecno says it will provide two Android operating system upgrades.

The device also features G1 signal enhancement and SE1 Wi-Fi enhancement chipsets. These are designed to improve network and wireless connectivity.

The Tecno Pova Curve 2 will be available in Mystic Purple, Melting Silver, and Storm Titanium colours. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at INR 27,999, which is around $310. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version costs INR 29,999, or about $330.

For buyers in Bangladesh, the launch in India may indicate a possible regional release in the coming months. However, the company has not announced any plans for the Bangladeshi market.

The phone will be available for purchase in India starting 20 February, according to the company’s announcement.
