Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra will feature a 200-megapixel main rear camera. The announcement came near the end of Mobile World Congress 2026, where the device was briefly showcased earlier this week.
During the event, the company did not reveal many details about the phone’s design or full hardware specifications. However, new information about the camera system has now been shared by Vivo product manager Han Boxiao on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
According to the post, the phone’s main camera will use the Sony LYTIA‑901 sensor. The sensor measures 1/1.12 inches and offers a 35mm focal length. Vivo said the new sensor can capture about 30 percent more light per pixel than earlier models.
The company also stated that the camera system meets the CIPA 6.5 stabilisation standard. This is an improvement compared with the previous Vivo X200 Ultra, which received a CIPA 5.0 rating. Higher stabilisation ratings usually help reduce blur in photos and improve video recording.
Vivo also upgraded the lens design in the main camera. The new setup uses one glass element and six plastic elements. It also includes a new coating that the company says can reduce glare by up to 30 percent.
Recent rumours suggest the phone may include additional cameras. These may include a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 5MP multispectral sensor.
The company has not yet announced the full specifications or release date of the device. More details are expected in the coming months.
