Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its new Xiaomi 17 Ultra in global markets. The lineup includes the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The devices were unveiled on Saturday for international buyers, months after their debut in China.
Both phones run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. They also feature Leica-tuned camera systems and support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at EUR 1,499 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. This is roughly Rs. 1,61,264. It comes in Black, Starlit Green, and White. The standard Xiaomi 17 costs EUR 999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, or about Rs. 1,07,449. It is available in Alpine Pink, Black, Ice Blue, and Venture Green.
Xiaomi is also offering two optional camera accessories. The Photography Kit costs EUR 99.99, while the Photography Kit Pro is priced at EUR 199.99.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3. It has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports up to 1,060 nits peak brightness and is protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 3.
The device is powered by a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
Photography is a key focus of the Ultra model. It features a triple rear camera system tuned by Leica. The setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto lens offers a variable focal length between 75mm and 100mm. On the front, the phone carries a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
The handset supports 5G, 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C. It has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It also supports 22.5W reverse charging.

The standard Xiaomi 17 shares the same processor and connectivity features. It has a smaller 6.3-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
The Xiaomi 17 includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. It also features a 50-megapixel front camera. The global version packs a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
The Pro version of the series is not part of the global rollout.
The global launch expands Xiaomi’s flagship portfolio beyond China. For buyers in South Asia, including India and Bangladesh, the launch signals wider availability of high-end Android devices with advanced camera hardware.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed specific sale dates for individual South Asian markets. Further regional availability details are expected from the company in the coming weeks.
