Android 17 Beta 1 to Roll Out Soon – What You Need to Know

First beta will bring bug fixes and better system stability for eligible Pixel users.

Google has confirmed that Android 17 Beta 1 will roll out soon to eligible Pixel devices. The announcement came in a recent Reddit post. The company said the update will focus on bug fixes, performance gains, and improved system stability.

The confirmation comes as Google begins rolling out Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2.1 to supported Pixel phones. QPR stands for Quarterly Platform Release. It delivers regular feature updates and fixes between major Android versions.

Users who are already enrolled in the Android Beta Program will receive Android 17 Beta 1 automatically once it becomes available. They do not need to take any extra steps to install it.

According to a report published last year, Android 17 carries the internal codename “Cinnamon Bun.” Google often uses dessert-themed codenames during development. However, these names are usually not used in public branding.

Google has also shared guidance for users who do not want to install the new beta. Those users must exit the Beta Program before the update rolls out. To avoid losing data, they should opt out now, ignore any update marked “Downgrade,” and wait for the stable public release of Android 16 QPR3.

If a user installs Android 17 Beta 1 and later decides to leave the program, the process becomes more complex. In that case, they may need to wait until the beta cycle ends. The beta testing period is expected to conclude around June.

The stable version of Android 17 is expected in the second quarter of 2026. Google says the final release will include broader improvements, new gaming features, and additional system enhancements.

For Pixel users in Bangladesh who are part of the Beta Program, the upcoming release means early access to new changes. However, beta software may contain bugs and unfinished features. Users should review Google’s guidance carefully before choosing to install the update.

Google is expected to share more details about Android 17 features as the beta program progresses in the coming months.
