The Junior Scholarship Examination for Class 8 students began on December 28, 2025, and ended on January 5, 2026. The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board organised the exam after a gap of 14 years. The last Junior Scholarship Examination was held in 2009.

From 2010 to 2019, the Education Ministry introduced the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination instead. The scholarship exam returned this year as a separate assessment for selected students based on strong academic performance in their Class 7 final examinations.

The publication of the results allows successful candidates to move forward with scholarship-related procedures under their respective education boards.
