Google Pixel 10a Lunched in India with 48MP Camera, 8GB RAM and Tensor G4

The Google Pixel 10a is now on sale in India. The smartphone was launched globally last month by Google as the entry-level model in the Pixel 10 series.

The device is available with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is priced at Rs 49,999 in India. Buyers can purchase it through Flipkart, the Google online store, and select retail outlets.

Google is offering several purchase benefits. Customers can receive up to Rs 3,000 instant cashback with selected HDFC Bank credit cards. An exchange bonus of up to Rs 3,000 is also available when trading in an older device. Buyers can also choose interest-free monthly instalments for up to 24 months.

The Pixel 10a comes in four colours. These include Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box. Google says the device will receive seven years of operating system upgrades and security updates.

The handset features a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Inside, the device uses Google’s Tensor G4 processor. The same chip powered the Pixel 9 series last year. The phone also includes the Titan M2 security coprocessor.

For photography, the Pixel 10a has a dual rear camera system. It includes a 48-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation. The second camera is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. A 13-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The smartphone packs a 5,100mAh battery. It supports 30W wired charging and 10W wireless charging. The device also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Google has added several software tools to improve the camera experience. A Camera Coach feature can analyse scenes and suggest better photo framing. The Add Me tool helps include the photographer in group pictures.

The Pixel 10a also supports editing images using natural language through Google Photos. Users can request changes, and the app applies edits automatically.

Google has also simplified the process of switching to a Pixel device. Buyers ordering from the Google store can prepare data transfers in advance before the phone arrives.

The new Pixel model expands Google’s mid-range smartphone lineup in South Asia. Sales in India mark the first retail availability following its global launch.
