Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G Launching March 17: 50MP Camera, 6,000mAh Battery

Samsung has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G will launch in India on March 17. The company announced the release on Monday. The device will expand the Galaxy M series lineup in the Indian market.

The smartphone is designed for everyday communication, streaming, and social media use. It will be available in two colours: Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue. Samsung has not yet announced the official price.

The handset features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate allows smoother scrolling and animation on the screen. The display also supports Adaptive Brightness with High Brightness Mode.

Adaptive Brightness adjusts the screen according to surrounding light conditions. This helps users see the display clearly in bright environments. The device measures 8.2mm in thickness.

The phone uses a Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer back panel. It also carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. This rating offers basic protection against dust and light water splashes.

The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor. The chip includes two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. Graphics processing is handled by an Arm Mali-G57 GPU.

The smartphone runs on Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8 interface. Samsung says the device will receive six generations of Android upgrades. It will also get six years of security updates.

Security features include Samsung Knox Vault protection. The system has received Evaluation Assurance Level 5+ certification. This certification indicates high security testing standards.

The phone also includes new interface features such as Now Bar and Live Notifications. These tools show real-time updates and active tasks on the screen. The device supports Google Gemini AI features and Circle to Search.

For photography, the smartphone includes a 50-megapixel main camera. A 2-megapixel depth sensor helps create portrait background effects. The front camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

The handset includes a 6,000mAh battery designed for extended daily use. Samsung says the battery can support long periods of browsing, streaming, and messaging.

Samsung will reveal full pricing and availability details during the official launch event on March 17.
