The admission test for the ‘D’ unit of the Islamic University (IU) ended on Sunday with high participation. The university said about 92.50 percent of applicants attended the exam.
The test took place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on April 12. It was held at the university’s faculty building and the Rabindra-Nazrul Arts Building. The information came from a press release issued by the university’s public relations office after the exam.
This year, 2,039 students applied for 330 seats under the ‘D’ unit. A total of 1,886 candidates took part in the test. The university described the process as smooth and well-managed.
Senior university officials visited the exam centres during the test. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Mohammad Nasrullah led the inspection team. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Ayakub Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, and Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Monjurul Haque were also present.

The ‘D’ unit includes four academic departments. These are Al-Qur’an and Islamic Studies and Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies under the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies. It also includes Arabic Language and Literature under the Faculty of Arts, and Da’wah and Islamic Studies under the Faculty of Islamic and Comparative Religion.
University officials said the high attendance shows strong interest in these subjects. They did not report any major problems during the exam.
The university is expected to announce the next steps in the admission process after reviewing the results.
