The Ministry of Education has appointed new principals and vice-principals in 10 government colleges across Bangladesh. The Secondary and Higher Education Division issued the order through a recent notification. The appointments were made by transferring officers from the BCS (General Education) cadre.
According to the notification, six colleges have received new principals, while two colleges have new vice-principals. In two colleges, both a principal and a vice-principal have been appointed at the same time.
Professor Shamima Ara has been named principal of Eden Mohila College in the capital. Other new principals include Professor Md. Abdul Hamid Molla at Savar Government College and Professor Khan Md. Sajjad Kabir at Muminunnisa Government Women’s College. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahfil Khan has been posted to Government Devendra College.
In addition, Professor Ashish Kumar Sarkar will lead Birampur Government College, and Professor Md. Gias Uddin will head Netrokona Government Women’s College. Principal Bidhan Chandra Mitra has been appointed to Haji Abdul Aziz Khan Degree College, while Professor Sultana Mahmuda Yasmin will serve at Lalmatia Government Women’s College.

For vice-principal roles, Professor Shahnaz Parveen has been appointed at Eden Mohila College. Professor Ziaul Kabir joins Muminunnisa Government Women’s College, while Professor Mostafa Kamal and Professor Md. Abdullah Al Fuad has been posted to Rajbari Government College and Dinajpur Government Women’s College.
The ministry has directed all officials to leave their current posts by April 15. If not, they will be treated as released automatically that day.
