The SSC Exam 2026 for all education boards, including Dhaka, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, and Comilla, will begin on April 21 across Bangladesh.
Under the Dhaka Education Board, 366,650 students will sit for the exams. Among them, 169,939 are male, and 196,711 are female. This makes Dhaka the largest Education Board by number of candidates.
As per the official routine, the first exam will be Bangla 1st Paper. A total of 1,857,344 candidates are set to take part this year, according to data released on Sunday.
A source from the Inter-Education Board confirmed the figures on April 19. The exams under the Dhaka Board will be held at 510 centres. Students from 3,044 institutions will take part. Compared to last year, the number of candidates in this board has increased by 14,835.
Nationwide, the total number of candidates has dropped. Last year, 1,928,970 students took the exams. This year, the number has fallen by 71,626.

Of the total candidates, 1,418,398 are under nine general education boards. Another 304,286 students are from the Madrasa Education Board. The rest are under the Technical Education Board. In total, 930,305 candidates are male, while 927,039 are female.
Barishal Education Board has the lowest number of candidates this year. A total of 81,831 students will sit for the exams there. Among them, 37,944 are male, and 43,887 are female. The board has arranged 216 centres with 1,515 institutions.
The SSC exams are a major public test in Bangladesh. Results often guide college admission decisions. Education officials have completed preparations and expect the exams to proceed as scheduled.
