Samsung has announced the One UI 9 beta programme for the Galaxy S26 series ahead of Google’s expected Android 17 preview later today. The beta update is based on Android 17 and will begin rolling out in selected countries this week.
The company said Galaxy S26 users in India, Germany, South Korea, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States can apply for the Samsung One UI 9 Beta programme through the Samsung Members app.
Samsung also shared details about the new features planned for the update. The Samsung Contacts app will now include the Creative Studio AI tool. This feature allows users to create custom profile cards directly inside the app.
The Quick Panel is getting redesigned controls. Users will now see separate toggles for screen brightness, sound settings and the media player.

Samsung said the update also focuses on accessibility improvements. The company is introducing a combined TalkBack voice guidance package. Earlier, Google and Samsung offered these services separately.
Another accessibility feature, called Text Spotlight, will now work in floating windows. Samsung said this will make reading easier for users. The update will also allow users to adjust Mouse Key speed settings.
Samsung Notes is receiving new personalization tools as part of the update. Users will get additional pen line styles and decorative tape options for note editing.
The company is also adding a new security feature. Samsung devices will automatically detect suspicious or high-risk apps. If such apps are found, the system can block file installation or execution and suggest steps to improve device security.
The One UI 9 beta announcement comes before Google’s Android Show I/O Edition event, where the company is expected to reveal new Android 17 features and updates.
