The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has started the final steps for recruiting 14,384 assistant teachers in government primary schools across Bangladesh.
According to a ministry letter, police verification and intelligence checks will be carried out before the candidates receive final appointments. The process applies to candidates who have already been primarily selected under the Assistant Teacher Recruitment-2025 programme.
The ministry said the activities and records of all 14,384 selected candidates will be reviewed through police investigations. Authorities will also verify the authenticity of their educational certificates and other submitted documents.
In addition, the National Security Intelligence (NSI) will provide reports on the candidates before the recruitment process is completed.
The letter states that candidates who pass the verification stage will undergo a two-month training programme at Primary Teachers’ Training Institutes (PTIs) before being posted to schools.

Final appointments will depend on satisfactory police and NSI reports, successful completion of the training programme, and compliance with all conditions outlined in the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules, 2025.
The ministry also said the newly recruited teachers will be confirmed as permanent employees after completing two years of service, subject to meeting all required conditions.
The recruitment process is one of the largest recent appointments in the primary education sector. The move is expected to help fill vacant teaching positions in government primary schools across the country.
The next stage of the process will involve verification, training, and final approval before the selected candidates join their assigned schools.
