The National University has published the Honours 3rd Year Result 2026 through the official website result.nu.ac.bd. After the results were released, some students found an “Absent” status in one or two subjects even though they attended the exams.
The issue has caused concern among many students across Bangladesh. However, students and education insiders say this problem is usually linked to attendance records, answer script handling, or data entry mistakes.
In most cases, the problem can be solved by following the proper process and submitting the required documents to the university authority.
Students first need to confirm that they attended the examination and that their names were included in the attendance sheet at the exam hall. For this reason, they should collect a copy of the Attendance Sheet or another proof of attendance from the college where they sat for the exam.

Education officials and former students say this document is very important because it proves the student was physically present during the examination.
Students also need photocopies of their Admit Card and Registration Card. These copies should be attested by the principal or head of their college. The attested documents help confirm the student’s identity and examination participation.
After collecting the documents, students should prepare a written application to the National University. In the application, they should clearly mention that they attended the examination but were mistakenly marked as “Absent” in the published result.
The application should include the student’s name, roll number, registration number, examination year, and subject code. A clean and properly written application may help speed up the process.
Students must also attach a copy of the published result sheet where the “Absent” status appears. This acts as direct evidence of the problem.
After preparing all documents, students should submit the full set to the National University through the proper channel. The documents usually include:
- Attendance Sheet or attendance proof
- Attested Admit Card copy
- Attested Registration Card copy
- Written application
- Result sheet showing “Absent.”
According to students who previously faced the same issue, the university often resolves the matter after checking the records. Once verification is completed, the corrected result is usually updated on the official website within a few weeks.
Many students also think about applying for a board challenge or result re-evaluation. However, education insiders say this step is generally unnecessary in such cases.
They explain that the issue is usually administrative, not related to marks or grading. Because of this, submitting proper documents is considered the most effective solution.
Students are advised not to panic if they see “Absent” in their results despite attending the exam. Instead, they should quickly contact their college and complete the required process with the university authority.
