iPhone 17e Launched: 48MP Camera, Faster 5G With Big Upgrades at Attractive Price

The new affordable model adds a faster processor, 48MP camera and MagSafe charging without a price increase.

Apple has launched the iPhone 17e as part of its latest product announcements. The device was introduced this week as the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 series. Pre-orders begin on March 4, with deliveries starting on March 11.

The new model starts at $599 for the 256GB version. The 512GB variant is priced at $799. It will be available in Black, White and a new Soft Pink colour.

The iPhone 17e runs on Apple’s A19 chip with a four-core graphics processor. It also features the new C1X modem. Apple says the modem can deliver up to twice the data speed of the previous entry model and provide more stable 5G connectivity.

The phone has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels. The screen supports HDR content with a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. It has a 60Hz refresh rate and a notch for Face ID and the front camera. Apple has added Ceramic Shield 2 glass, which it says offers better scratch resistance.

On the back, the device has a single 48-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation. It supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision. Apple says a new image processing system improves portrait photos and detail. The front camera is 12 megapixels and supports video calls and selfies.

The iPhone 17e now includes MagSafe support. It allows 15W wireless charging using compatible magnetic accessories. The device also supports faster wired charging through USB-C.

Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The phone supports eSIM and satellite connectivity for emergency services and messaging when there is no mobile signal. It runs on iOS 26 and supports Apple Intelligence features powered by the A19 chip.

For buyers in Bangladesh and India, the device offers higher base storage and flagship-level performance at a lower price than the standard iPhone 17, which starts at $799. Local pricing and availability details are expected to be announced by regional distributors in the coming days.
