Government Orders Morning Office Presence for Madrasah Staff

    Government Orders Morning Office

The Directorate of Madrasah Education has ordered officials and staff to remain in their office rooms every day from 9:00 am to 9:40 am. The instruction applies to all offices and educational institutions under the directorate across Bangladesh.

The directive follows a decision from the Cabinet Division. A notice from the directorate said the rule aims to improve service for citizens and increase administrative efficiency.

According to the notice, many officials often attend other programs on their way to work. This practice sometimes keeps them away from their offices during the early hours. As a result, members of the public face delays when seeking services.

The new instruction requires all officials and employees to stay in their own office rooms during the set time period. Authorities must also ensure that no official programs are scheduled during this period.

Officials said the rule will help improve communication with citizens. It will also speed up routine administrative work at madrasah offices and institutions.

However, the directive includes some exceptions. Teachers who do not hold administrative duties are not covered by the rule. Staff assigned to roster duties in hospitals, prisons, news organisations, or security services are also exempt.

The notice also allows officials to leave their office rooms in certain urgent situations. These include VVIP protocol duties, sudden accidents, or approved official visits. In such cases, they must inform the appropriate authority before leaving.

The instruction also refers to the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019 and the Secretariat Instructions, 2024. These regulations require government employees to maintain regular attendance and follow official office hours.

Authorities expect the new measure to strengthen discipline and ensure faster services for citizens visiting madrasah offices. Monitoring of attendance under the directive is expected to begin immediately.
