The National University has temporarily cancelled the enrollment of a law student over alleged involvement in robbery. The decision was announced in an office order issued on April 29.
The student, Md. Rifat Bhuiya, is from the 2023–24 academic session. University authorities said he was caught on the night of March 20. On-duty Ansar members and private security staff detained him at the main gate while he was trying to flee.
The order stated that initial findings showed his direct link to the incident. Based on this, the university took disciplinary action and suspended his enrollment.
Dr. Md. Ashek Kabir Chowdhury, Acting Dean of the School of Undergraduate Education, signed the order. He said the decision was approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
The university has not provided further details about legal proceedings. Officials said further steps will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
