Official data released on Sunday said 1,857,344 candidates are taking part in this year’s SSC examinations nationwide. Among them, 366,650 students are appearing under the Dhaka Board, making it the largest education board by candidate numbers.
The figures show 169,939 male candidates and 196,711 female candidates under the Dhaka Board. This means female students outnumber male students on the board this year.

A source from the Inter-Education Board confirmed the numbers on April 19. The source said the Dhaka Board exams are being held at 510 centres. Students from 3,044 institutions are taking part.
Compared with last year, the number of candidates under the Dhaka Board has increased by 14,835. The rise shows continued growth in participation at the country’s largest board.
Nationwide, 1,418,398 candidates are under the nine general education boards. Another 304,286 students are appearing under the Madrasa Education Board. The remaining candidates are under the Technical Education Board.
Overall, 930,305 male candidates and 927,039 female candidates are taking part across the country.
