The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations began across Bangladesh on Tuesday. The first exam, Bangla 1st paper, started at 10:00 AM and will continue until 1:00 PM.
Students arrived at exam centres about one hour early. At a centre in Biral Upazila, a large number of guardians gathered outside in the morning. The centre, Biral-C at Dharmapur Union Council High School, saw an overflowing crowd until around 9:25 AM.
According to official rules, guardians had to leave the area by 9:30 AM. Authorities enforced this to maintain order and ensure a proper exam environment.
The exam follows a set structure. The multiple-choice (MCQ) section runs from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The written part starts at 10:30 AM and continues until 1:00 PM.
This year, a total of 1,857,344 students are taking part in the SSC and equivalent exams under 11 education boards. Data from the Inter-Education Board shows that 1,418,398 candidates are under nine general education boards.
The Madrasa Education Board has 304,286 candidates. The Technical Education Board has 134,660 candidates.
Among all candidates, 930,305 are male and 927,039 are female. The figures show nearly equal participation between male and female students.
The SSC exams are a major public examination in Bangladesh. They play a key role in shaping students’ academic paths. Authorities will continue to monitor exam centres to ensure rules are followed throughout the exam period.
