Nine examinees were expelled on the fifth day of the SSC and equivalent exams across Bangladesh on Thursday. The information was confirmed by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee after the day’s exams ended.
Among those expelled, one student was removed during the Information and Communication Technology exam under the general education boards. Seven were expelled during the Bangla First Paper exam under the Madrasa board. One more examinee was expelled in two subjects under the technical education board.
Officials also said the absentee rate for SSC candidates stood at 1.11 percent on the day. This rate is lower than in previous exam days, suggesting improved attendance.
Earlier in the week, higher numbers of expulsions and absences were recorded. On the fourth day, 49 candidates were expelled nationwide. A total of 32,392 students were absent that day. The English Second Paper exam was held under the nine general education boards. In that exam alone, 24 candidates were expelled, while 16,184 students did not attend.
On the third day, more than 34,000 candidates were absent across the country. A total of 40 examinees were expelled for using unfair means. The English First Paper exam was held under the general education boards, while Mathematics exams took place under the Madrasa and Technical boards. Officials reported 15,599 absentees in the English First Paper exam, with 21 expulsions recorded.
Education officials continue to monitor the exams closely to ensure fairness. Strict measures remain in place to prevent cheating and maintain discipline at exam centres.
The SSC and equivalent examinations are ongoing, with more tests scheduled in the coming days.
