Three people, including a centre secretary, were expelled after an SSC exam was held with the wrong question paper in Uzirpur, officials said on Thursday.
The action was taken at the Habibpur Secondary School exam centre. Those removed were the centre secretary, Md. Faruk Hossain, assistant teacher Khagen Mondal, and another teacher are linked to the incident.
According to the allegation, students who were supposed to sit for the 2025 question set for irregular candidates were instead given the 2026 paper meant for regular candidates. The mistake has raised concerns over possible problems with the results of those students.
After the matter came to light, the upazila administration opened an inquiry. Officials said the allegation was found to be true. The three accused were then removed from all SSC examination duties with immediate effect.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Ali Suja said no irregularity in public examinations would be accepted.
“After receiving the complaint, the investigation confirmed the allegation. Quick action has been taken,” he said. “Highest importance is being given so that the future of the students is not harmed.”
The case is significant for Bangladeshi students and families because SSC results often affect college admission choices and future study plans. Any error in the exam process can create stress for candidates.
The administration also said it will send a recommendation to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education for further necessary action.
Officials are now expected to decide the next steps for the affected candidates and their results.
