The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will start on Tuesday, April 21, across Bangladesh. Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon said the SSC Result 2026 will be published within 60 days after the exams end.
He made the announcement while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat in Dhaka. The written examinations will continue until May 20.
The minister said authorities have taken steps to ensure fair exams this year. He said strict monitoring will be in place at centres across the country. He also warned that tough action will be taken against anyone who tries to disrupt the examinations or engage in misconduct.
He added that there is no instruction to award humanitarian, or grace, marks during answer script evaluation this year. Marks will be given only on the basis of students’ written answers, he said.
A total of 1,857,344 students are set to sit for the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of them, 930,305 are male candidates, and 927,039 are female candidates, according to the minister.
The SSC examination is one of the most important public tests in Bangladesh. It determines admission opportunities for higher secondary education and often affects future academic choices for students.
Officials hope the exams will be completed in an orderly and positive environment. The government also expects the SSC Result publication process to move quickly after the tests finish.
Students, parents, and schools are now preparing for the first day of examinations as centres across the country complete final arrangements.
