The Admission Results released online at noon on Wednesday, university confirms.

The CU C Unit Result 2026 under the Faculty of Business Administration of Chittagong University (CU) has been published. The results were released at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 14 January. CU published the results at the same time on its official website and Facebook page.

The ‘C’ Unit admission test is for first-year undergraduate (Honours) programmes under the Faculty of Business Administration for the 2025–26 academic session. The published results cover general seats only.

Earlier, the admission test for the ‘C’ Unit was held on Friday, 9 January. The examination started at 11:15 am and ended at 12:15 pm. Candidates took part in the test at designated centres inside the university.

According to CU authorities, a large number of students applied for the ‘C’ Unit this year. Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dr Mohammad Tayeb Chowdhury, said that there are 510 seats in this unit. Against these seats, a total of 16,924 students submitted applications.

Out of the total applicants, 14,673 candidates appeared in the admission test. The overall attendance rate stood at 87 per cent, according to official data shared by the faculty.

The admission test was conducted using multiple-choice questions. The total marks for the exam were 100. Students were tested on three subject areas. English carried 40 marks, while analytical ability and problem-solving each carried 30 marks.

Dr Mohammad Tayeb Chowdhury also said that the Faculty of Business Administration has six departments. As in previous years, the ‘C’ Unit admission test was held at three university centres to manage the large number of candidates.

Chittagong University is conducting admission tests this year against a reduced number of seats. In total, exams are being held for 3,597 general seats across four units and three sub-units. In addition to general seats, 568 seats are reserved under different quota categories.

However, CU authorities have made some changes to the admission policy this year. There is no ward quota for the children of teachers, officers, and employees. This decision applies to all units for the current academic session.

Another major change is related to academic results. Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Grade Point Averages are not being added to the admission test scores this year. The final merit list is being prepared based only on the marks obtained in the admission test.

University officials also confirmed that the total number of seats has been reduced by around 20 per cent compared to previous years. Despite the reduction, interest in CU admission remains high. This year, 233,335 students applied to take part in the university’s admission tests across all units.

The publication of the CU C Unit Result is an important step in the admission process for business studies applicants. Candidates can now check their results through CU’s official online platforms and follow further instructions for the next stages of admission.
