Results released on Saturday evening; candidates can check scores online

Rajshahi University has published the results of the ‘A’ Unit admission test for first-year undergraduate (Honours) programmes for the 2025–26 academic session. The RU A Unit Result were released on Saturday, 24 January, at 5:30 pm.

The information was confirmed by Professor Dr Md Shaiful Islam, Director of the university’s ICT Centre. He said students can now view their results through the official Rajshahi University website.

The ‘A’ Unit admission test was held on 17 January. The exam was conducted in multiple-choice question format. It was based on a total of 100 marks and lasted for one hour.

The question paper included 80 MCQ questions. Each question carried 1.25 marks. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks were deducted. This means one full mark was cut for every four incorrect answers. The minimum pass mark for the test was set at 40.

The examination took place in two shifts. In the first shift, 52,657 candidates appeared out of 57,759 registered examinees. This resulted in an attendance rate of 91.17 percent. In the second shift, 52,073 candidates were present out of 57,756 examinees. The attendance rate in this shift was 90.16 percent.

According to university officials, the large number of examinees reflects continued high demand for seats in Rajshahi University’s science-related and general education programmes under the ‘A’ Unit.

This year, the university arranged the admission test at several centres across the country to reduce pressure on candidates and improve exam management. Along with the Rajshahi University campus, the test was held at Dhaka University, Jagannath University, Chittagong University, Khulna University, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur. For the first time, Barishal University was also used as an exam centre.

Education officials said holding exams at multiple locations helped reduce travel difficulties for students from distant districts. It also supported smoother exam operations by distributing candidates across centres.

The publication of the results is an important step in the undergraduate admission process. Successful candidates will move forward to the next stages, which may include subject choice, merit list selection, and final admission procedures.

Rajshahi University authorities are expected to announce further instructions soon through official notices. Students have been advised to follow updates only from the university’s verified website and official communications.
