RU A Unit Practical and Written Exam Date Announced

Law, English and arts-related department tests scheduled in early February

Rajshahi University (RU) has announced the dates for the practical and written examinations under its A Unit admission process. Yesterday (January 24), the authority published the RU A Unit Admission Result.

The written examination for candidates seeking admission to the Law, Law and Land Administration, and English departments will be held on February 7, according to the university authorities.

Professor Belal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, confirmed the information to the media on Sunday, January 25. He said the practical examinations for the Music and Theatre departments will take place on February 1, 2, and 3.

The practical tests for the departments of Fine Arts, Oriental Art and Printmaking, Ceramics and Sculpture, Graphic Design, Crafts, and Art History will be held on February 7.

Professor Hossain also confirmed that the written examination for the Law, Law and Land Administration, and English departments will be conducted on the same day. Earlier, on November 13 last year, Rajshahi University published the admission requirements for different departments on its official website.

According to the notice, candidates who pass the MCQ admission test for English, Law, and Law and Land Administration must sit for a combined written examination of 50 marks. The test will include 25 marks for reading comprehension and 25 marks for an essay in English.

For the English department, 1,500 candidates will be selected for the written examination based on the highest scores in the English section of the MCQ test.

For the Law and Law and Land Administration departments, the first 1,500 candidates will be selected based on the highest total marks among those who secure at least 45 percent in both the Bangla and English sections of the MCQ examination.

The university stated that the final merit list and waiting list for the English department will be prepared only from the marks obtained in the written examination.

In contrast, the final merit list and waiting list for the Law and Law and Land Administration departments will be prepared using the combined scores of the MCQ and written examinations. For departments that require practical tests, the full marks for each practical examination will be 100, with a pass mark of 40.

The announced schedule is important for A Unit candidates, as it confirms the final stages of assessment for several arts, law, and language-related departments at Rajshahi University.

University officials said the examinations will be held according to the published dates, and further instructions will be shared through official notices if needed.
