Dhaka University have published the DU A Unit Admission Test Result of the Science Unit for the 2025-2026 academic year. The result has been released on Monday evening (January 26) through the official website.
According to DU officials, the overall pass rate this year is 7.46 per cent. A total of 7,621 candidates passed the admission test under this unit.
Candidates can check their results by logging into the official admission website of Dhaka University. To view the result online, applicants must use their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) roll number, board name, year of passing, and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) roll number.
The DU A Unit Result is also available through SMS. Candidates using Grameenphone, Banglalink, or Teletalk can receive their result by typing “DU SCI” followed by their roll number and sending it to 16321. A return SMS will provide the result shortly after sending the message.
The Science Unit admission test was held on 27 December. This year, competition was high. Against a total of 1,891 available seats, 114,114 students applied to sit for the exam.
University data shows that most successful candidates came from the Science background. Out of the total passed students, 7,212 were from the Science group. Another 300 candidates passed from the Humanities group, while 109 candidates passed from the Business Studies group.
The university also reported that the results of 4,278 candidates were cancelled. The authorities did not provide further details on the reasons for cancellation in the result announcement.
The Science Unit, also known as the A Unit, is one of the most competitive admission units at Dhaka University. It attracts a large number of applicants every year due to limited seats and high demand for science-based subjects.
The low pass rate reflects the intense competition among candidates. With more than one hundred thousand applicants and fewer than two thousand seats, only a small percentage of students were able to qualify.
Dhaka University is the country’s oldest public university and is considered one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Bangladesh. Admission to its undergraduate programmes is highly competitive across all units.
Successful candidates are expected to follow further instructions from the university regarding the next steps. These include subject choice, merit position details, and admission procedures, which will be announced through official DU platforms in due course.
