Discussions are continuing on the publication of the Junior Scholarship Examination 2025 results in Bangladesh. Professor S. M. Kamal Uddin Haider confirmed the update on Sunday, 1 February.
He is the Convener of the Inter-Board Examination Controllers’ Committee and the Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Speaking to the media, he said several meetings are now being held to decide a possible time for publishing the results. However, no specific date has been fixed so far, he added. The official said the final date will be announced only after the decision is completed by the relevant authorities.
He also clarified an important issue about result timelines.
According to him, there is no fixed rule that requires the results to be published within one month of the examination. He said this is not a mandatory requirement under the existing system. The time of publication depends on the overall situation and on how prepared the boards are to release the results.
When asked whether the middle of the current month is being considered as a possible time, Professor Haider gave a cautious response.
He said such an idea may be under discussion, but no decision has yet been taken. The Junior Scholarship Examination 2025 was taken by Class Eight students under the country’s education boards.
The examinations were held in several phases at the end of last year and at the start of this year. Students sat for Bangla under subject code 101 and English under subject code 107. They also appeared in Mathematics, subject code 109, and Science, subject code 127.
Another paper was on Bangladesh and Global Studies, with subject code 150. According to the official schedule, the examinations were conducted from 28 to 30 December 2025. The final paper was held on 6 January 2026.
The Inter-Board Examination Controllers’ Committee coordinates activities among the education boards, including result processing and publication. Any decision on the result date must pass through this joint process.
The update is important for students and parents across Bangladesh who are waiting to plan admissions and academic steps for the next stage. Many schools also depend on the official result date to prepare their academic schedules.
For now, education board officials say the Junior Scholarship Result will be announced only after internal discussions are completed, and the date is formally approved.
