The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) will publish the viva, or oral exam, results for assistant teacher recruitment today, Sunday, February 8, 2. The results will be released on the official website of the directorate at dpe.gov.bd, according to confirmed sources at the DPE.
The viva exams are part of the ongoing recruitment process for 14,385 assistant teachers in government primary schools. Officials said the process is moving forward as planned, and the final results may be published before the 13th National Parliamentary Election scheduled for February 12.
The oral examinations began on January 28 and continued until February 3. These exams were held at the district level across the country. After completing the viva process, the authorities are preparing the final list of selected candidates.
This recruitment is based on the 2025 intake. The written examination was held on January 9 at the same time in 1,408 centres across 61 districts. The three hill districts were excluded from the test.
Following the written exam, some job seekers alleged that question papers had been leaked. On January 11, more than 150 candidates submitted a memorandum to the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education. They also raised concerns about other possible irregularities in the examination process.
The Directorate said it sent the allegations to intelligence agencies for investigation. After a full inquiry, the authorities reported that no evidence was found to support the claims made by the protesters.
On January 21, the Directorate of Primary Education published the results of the written examination. A total of 69,265 candidates were selected to appear in the viva exams. The detailed viva schedule was announced the next day, on January 22.
Official data shows that 1,080,095 applications were submitted for this recruitment of revenue-funded assistant teachers. Among them, 830,088 candidates took part in the written test held in January.
After the completion of the viva exams and final review, 14,385 candidates will be appointed as assistant teachers in government primary schools. Candidates are advised to check the official DPE website for the latest updates and the published results later today.
