The SSC 2026 Bangla 2nd Paper exam was held across Bangladesh on Thursday, April 23. The test began at 10 AM and is set to continue until 1 PM, according to the official exam routine.
The SSC and equivalent examinations started earlier this week on Tuesday, April 21, with the Bangla 1st Paper exam. Education authorities arranged the second Bangla paper as the next scheduled subject.
This year, 1,857,344 candidates registered for the SSC and equivalent exams under 11 boards. Of them, 930,305 are male students, and 927,039 are female students.
Under the nine general education boards, 1,418,398 candidates are appearing in the exams. Another 304,286 students are under the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board. A further 134,660 candidates are under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.

Figures from the Bangla 1st Paper exam show that 1,122,963 students attended the test. A total of 11,890 candidates were absent.
The Dhaka Education Board has the highest number of candidates this year. A total of 366,650 students are sitting the exams under the board. Among them, 169,939 are male, and 196,711 are female. The board has 510 exam centres and 3,441 participating institutions.
The Sylhet Education Board has the lowest number of candidates. It has 89,421 students taking part. Of them, 35,530 are male, and 53,891 are female. The board is using 225 centres and 973 institutions.
The Rajshahi Education Board has 177,709 candidates. Among them, 93,174 are male, and 84,535 are female. The board has 274 centres and 2,279 institutions.
The Comilla Education Board has 146,817 candidates. Of these, 58,877 are male, and 87,970 are female. It is holding exams at 277 centres through 1,822 institutions.
The SSC examination is one of Bangladesh’s largest public exams. Authorities are expected to continue the remaining tests as scheduled in the coming days.
