The SSC Science exam for Humanities group students was held across Bangladesh on Sunday, May 17. The examination started at 10 am and will continue until 1 pm.

The multiple-choice question (MCQ) section began at 10 am and ended at 10:30 am. The written examination started immediately after the MCQ section and will continue until 1 pm.

According to the SSC routine, the exam carries a total of 100 marks. Of them, 30 marks are allocated for the MCQ section and 70 marks for the written part.

The written section is divided into two parts. Students must answer five creative questions worth 50 marks and 10 short questions worth 20 marks.

This year, a total of 1,857,344 students registered for the SSC and equivalent examinations across the country. Among them, 1,418,398 candidates are under the nine general education boards.

The Madrasa Education Board has 304,286 registered candidates, while the Technical Education Board has 134,660 candidates.

The figures show nearly equal participation between male and female students this year. A total of 930,305 male candidates and 927,039 female candidates registered for the examinations.

The Dhaka Education Board has the highest number of candidates. A total of 366,650 students are taking part under the board. Of them, 169,939 are male and 196,711 are female.

The board is conducting exams at 510 centres involving 3,441 educational institutions.

The Sylhet Education Board has the lowest number of candidates among the boards. A total of 89,421 students are participating under this board. Among them, 35,530 are male, and 53,891 are female.

The Sylhet board has arranged 225 exam centres and 973 participating institutions.

Under the Comilla Education Board, 146,817 candidates are sitting for the examinations. Of them, 58,877 are male, and 87,970 are female. The board has 277 centres and 1,822 institutions.

Meanwhile, education authorities reported that 25,408 candidates were absent on the first examination day during the Bangla First Paper exam.

Under the nine general education boards, 1,134,853 students were registered for the Bangla First Paper examination. Among them, 1,122,963 students attended the exam, while 11,890 remained absent.

The ongoing SSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to continue under the national routine in the coming weeks.
