The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education) has announced that it plans to start receiving teacher transfer applications in early July, pending approval from the Ministry of Education. The process is expected to begin in Bangladesh after all preparations are completed.
Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Director General of the Directorate, said information is being collected from field offices. He confirmed that the work will be completed by June.
“We are collecting information from the field level for teachers’ transfers. This process will be completed within June. After that, transfer applications will be accepted,” he said in an interview with Allresultnet.com on Thursday, June 4.
He added that institution heads have been instructed to ensure accurate data. He also said strict monitoring is in place during the data collection stage.

“Our plan is to start receiving applications from teachers at the beginning of July,” he said. “All work is being organized by June.”
Dr. Sohel further stated that approval from the Ministry of Education will be required before the application system goes live. He indicated that the process may begin by mid-July if approval is received on time.
The government has already updated the transfer software in line with the revised policy. The update was completed by Teletalk Bangladesh Limited following instructions from the education authorities.
On May 6, the Ministry of Education issued the revised transfer policy for MPO-enlisted school and college teachers. Under the new rules, teachers must serve at least two years in a post before applying for another transfer.
The policy also allows teachers to apply for transfer within their own district, division, or spouse’s workplace district, depending on vacancy availability. Authorities will publish vacancy lists online before inviting applications.
Institution-wise vacancy details will guide the application process. Transfers will only be approved when equivalent posts are available in receiving institutions.
This update is important for MPO-enlisted teachers across Bangladesh who have been waiting for a structured and digital transfer system. The revised policy aims to make transfers more transparent and reduce delays in the education sector.
For many teachers, the timing of the application window will affect posting options for the next academic cycle. The new system is also expected to improve fairness in allocation based on vacancies.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education is expected to complete all preparations by June. After ministry approval, the teacher transfer application system will be opened in July or possibly by mid-July.
