Candidates who passed the written phase of the Bangladesh Energy and Electricity Research Council (BEPRC) selection process now have a date for the next test, and an instruction they cannot ignore.
The council has published the schedule for the practical exam for the position of Administrative Assistant/Typist. Candidates who passed the written exam, held on July 18, have been summoned for this phase.

The practical test, which takes place over three consecutive days, follows the standard method for typing exams, where candidates are assessed in groups at available workstations, rather than all at once. Candidates should carefully review their test notification to confirm which of the three days they are scheduled to take.
The Three Instructions That Matter
BEPRC has issued three clear instructions for candidates, each with real consequences:
No travel or subsistence allowance will be provided. No travel or subsistence allowance will be paid for taking this exam. Candidates traveling from outside Dhaka should budget accordingly.
Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Candidates must be present at the center at least half an hour before the scheduled time. For an exam at 2:30 p.m., this means being there at 2:00 p.m.; and given the traffic conditions in Ramna in the early afternoon, leaving home well in advance is simply a precautionary measure.
Bring the original color admission card from the written exam. This instruction is the one most likely to cost someone their place. The requirement is specifically the original color admission card used for the written exam; not a photocopy, a black and white printout, or a phone screenshot. Candidates should locate it today and store it somewhere they won’t forget it.
What to Expect at a Computer Typist Practical
Although BEPRC has not published the detailed exam format, practical tests for Administrative Assistant/Typist positions in government offices generally assess typing speed and accuracy in both Bengali and English, as well as basic computer skills. In the days leading up to the exam, candidates should practice on a standard keyboard rather than using a phone or an unfamiliar environment.
One practical detail that often surprises candidates: the computers at the test center will not be the same as their own. The typing feel, key spacing, and software layout will be different from what they use for practice. Developing some tolerance for this unfamiliarity—by practicing on more than one keyboard, if possible—is more helpful in the final week than pure speed drills.
Checklist Before August 2
- Locate your original coloured written-exam admit card and keep it with your documents — this is non-negotiable
- Confirm your exact date among August 2, 3 and 4 from your call notice
- Plan your journey to IEB Building, Ramna, allowing for afternoon traffic and the 30-minute early requirement
- Practise typing in both Bangla and English on a proper keyboard in the days remaining
- Arrange your own travel budget — no TA or DA will be reimbursed
- Check BEPRC’s official website (eprc.gov.bd) for any updates or amendments to the schedule before you travel
