Candidates for professorships at the country’s medical schools now have their dates. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the schedule for oral interviews for Professor (Grade 3) positions in the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The interviews will begin on Monday, August 11, 2026.
The interviews will take place over three consecutive days and will cover 46 positions across nine medical specialties. Each session will begin at 10:00 a.m.

The Instructions That Could Cost You Your Viva
The PSC has included several conditions in this schedule, and at least one of them usually causes problems for candidates every year. Please read them carefully:
A separate admission card will not be issued for the oral interview. This is crucial. Candidates should not wait for a new admission card to arrive; if needed, they must download it from the PSC secretariat website or the Teletalk website.
No admission card, no oral interview. No candidate will be allowed to participate in the oral exam without their admission card. This rule is non-exceptional.
Original documents are mandatory. Original certificates and documents must be presented to the examining board; photocopies will not be accepted.
Arrive 30 minutes early. Candidates must be present at the relevant examining board half an hour before their scheduled time.
Mobile phones are strictly prohibited. Access to and use of mobile phones and any other communication devices is strictly prohibited.
What Candidates Should Do This Week
With roughly two weeks until the first session, here’s a sensible checklist:
- Download and print your admit card now — from the PSC or Teletalk website. Don’t leave this to the night before; server issues at the last moment are a genuine risk, and without it you simply cannot sit
- Assemble your original documents in one folder — MBBS and postgraduate certificates, transcripts, registration documents, experience certificates and anything else your application relied on
- Confirm your specialty’s date against the schedule above and cross-check it with the official notice
- Plan to leave your phone behind or in your vehicle — arriving with one and having nowhere to put it creates avoidable stress on the day
- Read the full official notice on the PSC website; this article summarises the schedule and key instructions, but the original notice is the authoritative source
Why These Posts Matter
Grade 3 professorships are high-level academic-clinical appointments: those who will train the next generation of physicians will also assume significant clinical responsibility within their institutions. With 46 such positions filled across nine specialties in a single round of applications, this represents a valuable addition of senior faculty to the country’s medical school system, particularly in anesthesiology, where the 11 available positions reflect a long-standing national shortage of personnel.
We will publish the results of these interviews and any subsequent appointment notifications as the Medical Services Commission (PSC) announces them. We wish all candidates who will be appearing before the board next month the best of luck.
